    Seems a little late. I feel games have had there golden years already. they need to find the next big thing.

    gaming hardware is too powerful. AAA game development requires a massive sweatshop of modelers and texture artists etc. it's too expensive and risky for NZ, let alone dunedin.

    their only chance will be "indie" level games or mobile garbage. there's potential for limited success with indie stuff but not the growth the govt wants. there's big money to be made if you dumb-luck your way into making the next mediocre mobile game that goes viral. not good odds though.
