eh 2 degrees is exactly the same, there isn't a magic 2nd cable that vocus can use. only difference would be in transit once you do get to the US but that's much of a muchness, especially to TX
Yeah looks like it, recently heard they had augmented their capacity into the US too but their arrangement of continental transit providers might be letting them down by about 10 ms or so though. It also seems many providers load balance their capacity via Sydney or rely on the more expansive peering by the big global backbones these days.

So other than sh!t customer service Orcon has a pretty stable connection? at $49.98 for 6 months and $99.95 for the remainder 6 months. I mean, is it a case you get what you pay for? because that deal blows any other gigabit plan out the water. averages out at $75 per month.

I don't even need gigabit but why not for that price.

as i said it's why im on it and i find it no different than 2Degrees after 3-4 months, speed is fine and i haven't had any down time or disconnections in those 3-4 months so i cant complain. Support is still shit , i wouldnt trust anything they do or tell me about their services.

    how does slingshot compare?
Can't comment on fibre, we have copper. But holy smazzles - they have great service.

Got an Xbox1 X to play RDR2, and it wouldn't connect to xbox live. Spent ages trying to get support from xbox, they kept pushing me back... went to slingshot in the hope they could help. Couldn't solve it on the phone. Nearly gave up - got a FOLLOW UP email from them a day or two later saying "Senior colleagues I spoke to said try this" basically did a small thing with port forwarding and fixed it.

sadly, have put an order to disconnect Slingshot and back to Spark.

one of the online games I play is barely playable at peak hour times. (east coast AWS servers)
Noticed other players on orcon were also complaining they couldn't play without massive lag spikes..

the ones on Spark had no issues..
