I'm ****ing loving being back on a bike after 17+ years away from it!

Still getting my fitness back up before I start hitting trails etc, but I can't go more than 2 or 3 days before I start getting the urge to go for a ride. It's really quite addictive!

Hmm some tempting items there. Didn't realise Specialised had a demo sales store here.
    Commencal looks cool.
What do you think of the 2018 27in ver? https://www.commencal-store.co.nz/me...18-c2x23876983

The GX is better than the NX on the 29.

I'd immediately replace the brakes with 4-pot shimano deore brakes. That's the only true complaint I'd have about that bike. From my personal perspective, I'd extend the fork to 150mm and upgrade the damper in it, but that's me being used to high end shit and more travel.

I've never had anything fancier than my old Reign 2, and only used JBs new Santa Cruz for 20 seconds. So probably better I don't try anything high end - then I don't know what I'm missing.

I think I am getting the hang of component specs, but no idea about shocks.

I go insane. There's only been one week since august in which I've been out less than three times, and it's because I hurt my knee.

Do you want to borrow my patrol for a few rides if you think it would help figure out what you want? 155mm rear travel, 170 front but I can swap it out to a 160mm. Large size with 457mm reach and modern angles.

I’m so jealous haha been working at home every night and weekend no time to ride hopefully after my surgery in May I’m back on the bike full time

I want to ask a family friend if I can build a trail in their forestry block as there's enough elevation to have a good track. I hope I can!

Don't worry about it man, I'm good thanks. Pretty sure I want a Jeffsy, and less likely a '19 Stumpjumper .
Have to get rid of my Talon and Roam...

Never missing a week since August is crazy. Ride rain or shine?

  10. Post
The SWAT box that the carbon stumpys have is awesome.

Yeah. Gotta keep sane. Riding helps at least somewhat.

Mate of mine just put his stumpy evo upto 170mm on the front and put a coil on the rear. It’s apparently quite good.

Monk haven’t you been trying to sell them for ages :/?

Listed on TM and FB once. Hate selling things, but I should just throw them on TM for cheaper I guess. Otherwise i'll have them forever.

I commute 16-25k a day since October last year. I definitely miss it when it's raining and I wuss out.
I need my lunchtime bike ride to see my doggies. Keeps me smiling.

So looks like they have a 15% off sale at YT today...

    JEFFSY 29 AL COMP
    $3899 -15
    https://nz.yt-industries.com/detail/index/sArticle/1928

    JEFFSY CF PRO 27
    $5499 -15
    https://nz.yt-industries.com/detail/...Category/73351

Is that jump to a CF Pro worth the cost? $4674.15 + shipping does seem cheap, but it is also going over what I expected to spend - as usual. Edit: Nice. Add the L to cart and you get a Small.
Both of these are in stock - no wait.

Ah damn it, I put an order in for the Capra 29 AL two weeks ago which isn't due to arrive until mid April. I've emailed YT to ask for a refund of the difference, pretty gutted to miss out on an extra $500 discount.
Would have been keen to upgrade to the AL Comp but looks like it's sold out now anyway...
Shame you missed out, the 2019 model pricing sucks

Edit: Just heard back from YT, the extra 15% was an error, the bikes already had 15% off. All outlet bikes have been removed until the error is fixed

That's a bit weird because those prices have been the same for a while, and then that 15% would add nothing.

Anyway I ordered the LARGE CF Pro 27 that ended up being a SMALL in the cart. We'll see if it works out in my favour.

Everything is sold out. But they run an instant stock system which goes out of stock when in a cart.

Looking at the yt bikes they look so sick wish I had went for a Cf pro race when I got my bike

    My order was cancelled already.

He offered 2018 Jeffsy 27 CF range at around $5015, but I don't think I want to spend that much.
    https://nz.yt-industries.com/detail/...Category/73434
Now offering it for $4899 incl shipping...

I do love the look at the Jeffsy. If I'm moving to Europe next year that might be on the cards for the next bike.

Issues with outlet store, and the bike I ordered should have been removed but was an 'old code'.
He said it should be resolved by the German team overnight (1AM now). So not sure when that would be.

I don't rate the 27 CF at 5k really for me. The CF Pro 27 under 5k felt like a total bargain.

Converted bike to tubeless and I'm loving that extra grip.

Took it out to Makara and had a blast down livewires and northface.

    yfy
And worrying less about pinch flats and more about ruining your rim

Went for a quick blast today in between working was great to be back on the bike

TREKS NEW TECHNOLOGY THEY WERE HYPING:

    https://www.popsci.com/trek-wavecel-...helmet-science

    A helmet.. lol.

Looks like the same action as MIPS but different technology. If it gets incorporated into other sports then maybe it will be a winner.
